The Circular Coil shows the magnetic field produced by a constant electrical current, using iron filings scattered on a clear surface that passes through the coil.
Iron filings are scattered on the clear surface, and when a current flows around the coil they align to show the magnetic lines of force. This gives a clear and easy way to observe the field generated by a constant current. The apparatus can also be used with a magnetic field sensor and/or datalogger.
