The Double Sided Geoboard is a plastic board with an 11 x 11 pin grid on one side and a 24-pin circular pattern on the other. It is used with rubber bands to explore shapes, angles, area, perimeter, symmetry and coordinates.
With rubber bands, the geoboard is used to explore and recognise shapes, designs, spatial relationships, angles, fractions, area, perimeter, symmetry and coordinates. For example, a child can find the area of a triangle by completing it into a rectangle and halving it, then verify the answer with the formula for the area of a triangle.
