The E-Field Apparatus makes electric fields between different electrode arrangements visible, much as iron filings show magnetic fields. It has a clear acrylic base with 4mm sockets and needs a high voltage, low current 2-5kV EHT power supply.
This apparatus reveals the pattern of the electric field between electrodes in a similar way to how iron filings reveal a magnetic field. Being transparent, it can be placed on an overhead projector for class demonstrations, or set on a white surface for use with a visualiser or for direct observation by smaller groups. A high voltage, low current 2-5kV EHT power supply is needed to produce fields large enough to influence the particles.
