The Flame Spreader is made of plated brass with a wing-shaped top 50mm wide. It slips over the burner tube of Bunsen burners to give a wide, flat flame of uniform temperature.
Fitted over a burner tube, the spreader changes the flame into a wide, flat one of uniform temperature across its width. That makes it suitable for tasks such as glass working and paint stripping.
