Helmholtz Coils with support

The Helmholtz Coils with support are a pair of preformed coils, each with 400 turns of copper wire on a former of approx. 150 mm diameter. Each coil sits on a support rod that fits the sliders of the supplied track system.
Mounting each coil on a support rod that slides along the supplied track lets the distance between the coils be changed while they stay aligned on a common axis, for measuring and studying magnetic fields. The direction of current is marked on each coil. The current should not exceed 1 A, to prevent overheating or damage.
