DDAFRICA-001-0042
The Hydraulic Press comprises a pair of graduated glass syringes of 50 and 20 cm³ capacity, with finely ground pistons and a cross-sectional area ratio of 3:1.
The two syringes stand on a non-skid sheet metal base with a loading platform at the top, and their nozzles are joined through a 3-position valve so they can be opened to the atmosphere, isolated or interconnected. The simple construction allows either water or air to be used to demonstrate the concepts involved. Because the barrels are graduated, simple Boyle's Law experiments can also be performed.
