The Mechanical Stage is a detachable attachment for the fixed stage of a microscope. Its graduated X and Y movements are adjusted by rack and pinion and carry Vernier scales reading to 0.1 mm.
This attachment fits on the fixed stage of a microscope and moves the slide along two graduated axes, X and Y, each adjusted by rack and pinion. The Vernier scales on both movements read to 0.1 mm. It is detachable, so it can be taken off the fixed stage.
