The Motor/Generator Unit is a 6-9 V motor/generator mounted on a robust metal base. It can lift a mass or stretch a bungee cord, then generate a current as the load is released.
This unit is designed to illustrate energy transfers. Driven as a motor, it can raise a mass or stretch a bungee cord; when the mass falls or the cord is released, the same unit acts as a generator and produces an electrical current. Turning it by hand also generates a current, and the choice of gearing and pulley sizes allows both qualitative and quantitative work.
