The Pathological Microscope pairs achromatic x10, x40 and x100 oil immersion objectives with an Abbe condenser of N.A. 1.2 and a detachable graduated mechanical stage. Its fine motion knob is graduated to read to 0.002 mm.
This microscope is set up for high-magnification slide work, with a x100 oil immersion objective and an Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm that rises and falls by rack and pinion. A detachable graduated mechanical stage sits on the fixed square stage, and separate coarse and fine knobs focus the image. Light is taken from a plano-concave daylight mirror that can be replaced by an electrical illuminator. A safety stopper helps prevent damage to slides and objectives.
