The Pelton Turbine with Safety Turbine shows how running water can produce electricity to light a bulb or LED. Driven by the pressure from a water tap, it produces up to 2.4 V DC and 0.6 A.
Water from a tap is directed at full power through the input hull so that the jet strikes the spoons on the turbine wheel. The turning wheel generates electricity, producing up to 2.4 V DC and 0.6 A, which is enough to make a light bulb or LED illuminate. The housing is made of plexiglass and the wheel of coloured metal.
