Polarimeter

The Polarimeter is a simple instrument for student use that measures the angle of rotation or extinction of a solution on an integral scale. It needs a standard DC power supply for its light source.
Monochromatic light passes through a polariser at the base and then through a sample tube holding the solution under test. A second polariser in the eyepiece is rotated, and the angle of rotation or extinction is read from the integral scale. The light source is powered from a standard DC power supply.
