The Ratemeter is a battery-operated, portable Geiger counter with a built-in GM tube that is sensitive to alpha, beta and gamma radiation. It displays dose rate in µSv/h, referenced to Cs-137.
Because it runs on batteries and carries its own GM tube, this ratemeter can be taken out of the laboratory for field measurements. Readings can be shown as dose rate or counts per second, each with maximum, minimum and average views. Counting runs over one of eight fixed periods, from 1 s up to 100 s.
