Ripple Tank Kit

The Ripple Tank Kit is an overhead projector type ripple tank for demonstrating reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference. It has a shallow 40 x 40 cm tank with a scratch-resistant acrylic window, supported on four adjustable legs.
A bright point light source held above the tank shines down through the water and casts a shadow of the waves on the bench below. The waves are made by an eccentric motor and bar assembly held on two side arms and suspended by springs, which stops the vibration reaching the tank. The kit includes concave, convex and rectangular Perspex plates, a curved reflector, two large and one small barriers, two point dippers, a hand stroboscope, banana leads and instructions.
