Teltron Dual Beam Tube

The Teltron Dual Beam Tube is a partly evacuated, helium-filled electron tube with both axial and perpendicular electron guns. The beams show as fine, slightly greenish lines from impact excitation of the helium atoms.
One tube offers two ways of finding the specific charge e/m. Electrons from the perpendicular gun, in a vertically aligned magnetic field, follow a path whose diameter is measured; electrons fired axially into a coaxial magnetic field follow a spiral path that can be observed. The two beams run perpendicular to each other and share a deflector plate.
